Soroptimist International of Hutchinson Presents LUNAFEST 2022

Friday, August 12th, 2022. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Films begin at 7:00 PM

LUNAFEST, films by and about women, brings a festival of new short films to theaters around the country every year. Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre will be the only Kansas screening outside the KC-metro area in 2022! This year’s stories, recommended for audiences ages 13 and up, use both live action and animation to reveal the friendships and family ties woven through the lives of women and gender nonconforming individuals. The eight festival films highlight aspirations, challenges, and strengths for a moving evening of inspiration.

Tickets are $20 each. Complimentary wine (for 21 & over) or beverages, appetizers and desserts, will be served.

NEW this year: Emily McAllister, director of the festival film Wearable Tracy, will Zoom into the Fox for an audience Q&A following the screening.

All proceeds from LUNAFEST will benefit women with extreme financial hardship in Reno County through the Soroptimist Emergency Fund and Chicken & Egg Pictures, a nonprofit organization that supports women nonfiction filmmakers whose artful and innovative storytelling catalyzes social change.

Tickets also available at the FOX box office or at the door the night of the event
